I love Autumn – it’s my favourite time of year

Autumn is my favourite time of year - bonfires, kicking leaves, dog walks and buttery crumpets and other comfort food | The Nice Nest

October started with misty, cobwebby mornings clearing into beautiful sunny days. Autumn is my favourite time of the year.

A time of long walks, bonfire parties with family and friends, kicking up leaves, admiring cobwebs and sitting on the sofa in front of the fire with the dog.

It’s a time of berries and fruit in the garden, of preparing and freezing ready to use during the Winter months. ┬áLater, after the first frosts, it will be time to collect rosehips and sloes to make rosehip syrup and sloe gin.

There is a cosiness to the darker evenings, although by January the novelty will have worn off!

I came across this quote and it pretty much sums up how I feel about October and Autumn.

I'm so glad about October | The Nice Nest
