My name is Alison and I started The Nice Nest blog as I began to explore living a simpler life.
Jim, my husband, shares my interest in doing things around the home and making things where we can. He is also a contributor to the blog as we try to become more self-reliant and thrifty.
Now when something needs to be done or an item needs to be replaced, the first question we ask is can we do it, repair it or make it ourselves.
We are also becoming increasingly aware of our impact on the environment and are taking steps to “green” our life where we can. This is an ongoing journey where we try what works for us and what doesn’t.
Food is another interest – growing it, cooking it and eating it!
Our natural inclination is towards a relaxed, simple style in the home and a tumbling, rustic, country feel in the garden.
The Nice Nest is a place for our ramblings on home, food, gardening and the odd craft project.
Thank you for your visit, please pop back from time to time to check out what’s new. It could be anything from cooking, the veg plot, home DIY or sewing and everything in between that contributes to making a Nice Nest!
Until next visit…
